Dear Kate, Patric, Maggie, Madeline and Danny, my heart goes out to you. I am sorry for your loss. I enjoyed knowing your husband and dad. I have many fond memories of times spent with him. His obituary says it all. He will be missed by many.

~ Ruth Ann Wieland, Sturgeon Bay, WI

God needed help with his golf game. What a guy. I was on the MSOE golf team in the 80’s. Still some of the best memories of my life.

~ Kevin Noll, Mequon, WI

Joe was indeed the founder and tireless advocate for all things related to the mental health needs of MSOE’s students; needs that were virtually unknown in the mid-1970s but often continued to be denied or remain untreated for years later and even to this day. Joe was also an incredibly compassionate, witty, and most helpful colleague and resource at those times when I had absolutely no clue on how to deal with a troubled student. He also built and developed an equally competent and compassionate staff that served our MSOE students, often silently but immensely. A somewhat unfortunate but most understandable byproduct of Joe’s work, and that of his staff, is the sacred trust of client-therapist confidentiality. Meaning and simply, many of Joe’s most significant contributions – the helping and serving of seriously struggling students – remain mostly sealed and known only to those whom he helped. Rest in peace, dear friend, as you taught me much as well.

~ Larry Fennigkoh, Milwaukee , WI

Condolences to the entire Meloy family. I worked with Joe at MSOE and the PGO & RGO golf outings we some of the best times! Very fond memories of a fantastic guy.

~ Nicole Duncan, Milwaukee, WI

Joe and I met as freshmen at Marquette High 61 years ago. We became part of a group of great guys who are still in contact all those years later. (And spouses, I should add.) Joe and I took separate paths in our careers but never lost touch. His obituary very aptly describes a guy who never met somebody who didn’t ultimately become a friend. To say that he will be missed is too trite. Old friends like Joe are rare and losing him is a huge loss. Nancy and I wish Kate and the entire Meloy family peace in the coming days and hope the memory of countless fun times will sustain them.

~ Don Kaegi, Ann Arbor

Rest In Peace, Joe. Heaven needed another Angel. Always enjoyed my time on the links with you, even though we were usually competing against each other. A true gentleman.

~ Ed Pawlowski , Brown Deer , WI

My condolences to you and your family. Joe was a fixture in my life as a student-athlete at MSOE, and working alongside Joe and the administrators on the Hall of Fame and beyond after graduating. I only wish I could have golfed a round with Joe later in life. Oh the stories and laughter we could have shared.

~ Sarah A., WI
