Age 75. Died peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, June 28, 2008. Dedicated physician and caring husband, father and grandfather. Longtime resident of Wauwatosa, currently of Waukesha and Tarpon Springs, Florida. Loving husband of Janet (nee Horan) for fifty-one years. Survived by children Bill (Roxanne) and their children Natalie, Laura, and Renee; Mary Ellen (Pat) Hughes, and their children Ryan and Brendan; Julie (Rich) Landy, and their children Rich, Morgan, and Sarah; Jim (Ann) and their children Thomas and Robert; Jeanne (George) Gilly, and their children Shannon and Caitlin; Catherine (Dave) Moe and their children Andy and Elizabeth; and Susan (William) Wesenberg, and their children Eloise and Simon. He will always be remembered by his sister-in-law, Marcia Treacy, sister, Maureen (Bill) Isaacson, brother, Steve (Harriet), Hugh and Katie McManus, Jim and Margery Brooks, many nieces, nephews and other relatives, dear friends and colleagues both here and in Florida. Preceded in eternal life by brother, Jack. Visitation at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Highway 83 and D, Genesee Depot, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, from 3:00 PM until the time of the concelebrated memorial funeral mass at 5:30 PM followed immediately by a gathering in celebration of his life. Dr. Treacy retired from medical practice in April after a lifetime of offering care, comfort, and guidance to his patients. He most recently served as a rheumatologist at the Clearwater Free Clinic in Clearwater, Florida and the Greater Milwaukee Free Clinic. He served the community at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee for forty years, including many years as chief of the department of medicine and member of the ethics committee. He has been president of Wisconsin State Medical Society and Wisconsin Society of Internal Medicine. He served for many years on the board of the Physicians Insurance Company of Wisconsin. He received his medical degree from the Marquette University School of Medicine after graduating from Marquette University. He completed his fellowship in Internal Medicine with emphasis on Rheumatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. An avid golfer, Dr. Treacy was a member of Cypress Run Country Club in Tarpon Springs, FL, and was a longtime member of Bluemound Country Club. He was also a leader in the Cypress Run Villa Association. He also served the community of Christ King Parish in Wauwatosa, as well as St. Paul's Parish in Genesee Depot, including providing medical relief efforts to Christ Our Peace church's health clinic in Guatamala City, Guatemala. Fort Harrison Ave., Clearwater, FL 33755 The family is thankful for the loving care and support given by Dr. Thomas Palmer and the compassionate staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
