William Gavin Blackley Oct. 17, 1924-June 16, 2014. William (Bill) Blackley was welcomed into heaven Monday, June 16, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marilou Blackley for 44 years, the father of Bill Blackley Jr. and the companion of Patricia L. Bandekow.

Bill grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois and spent his summers in Port Lampton, Ontario Canada along the St. Claire River. He attended Northwestern University and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked in Sales for over 50 years. He was a proud longtime member of Olympia Resort and Spa where he helped develop the Silver Sneakers Fitness Program. 

Bill was supportive of the interests of his five children especially sporting events. He enjoyed telling stories and was always the life of the party.  His laughter will be remembered by many. He said the secret to life is to have something to do, something to look forward to and someone to love. 

He was survived by his children Laurie Rojas, John Richard Blackley, Kevin Blackley, Brian Blackley and 5 grandchildren Brian, Jason, Kayla, Abby and Katie. A Celebration of his life will be held at Olympia Resort and Spa on Aug. 10.
