Aleksandar Stevanovic'
June 14, 1950 - May 19, 2013

Aleksandar (Sascha )Stevanovic'

Of East Troy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2013 at the age of 62. Aleksandar, was born on June 14, 1950 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He was the son of the late Militin and Svetlana Stevanovic'. He attended St. Dominicus Savior Boarding School in Germany. Aleks, who was also known as Sascha by his family, immigrated to America on December 31, 1965 , and settled with his mother in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Aleks attended and graduated from Riverside High School in 1970. While at Riverside High, he met Adeline (Addie) Drahonovsky and on July 15, 1972 married the love of his life and high school sweetheart.

Sascha is survived by his loving wife, Adeline "Addie" (nee Drahonovsky) of East Troy; loving father to Adam (Jessica) Stevanovic' of Sun Prairie, WI; Heidie (nee Stevanovic', Matthew) Riddle of Cheney, WA; proud grandfather of Aleksandar and Mirian Stevanovic' and Matthew, Joseph, and Benjamin Riddle. He is further survived by aunts, Lydia (Al) Felde of Oak Creek, WI and Olga (Robert) Rammer of Wheaton, IL; godson Dionis (Denny) Felde of Milwaukee, WI; dearest sister-in-law Dixie Kaiser and cousins, in-laws and friends.

Aleks worked for Roundy's Inc. for 26 years, retiring in 2012. He was a truck driver and spotter and served as a Steward for 6 years. He was a member of and served as President of the Sunshine Club and was a member of Teamsters 200 Retirement Club.

On September 17, 1980 Aleks, humbly yet proudly became a nationalized citizen of the United States of America.

Sascha was a true lover of music, especially classic country western. He enjoyed strumming his guitar, watching John Wayne movies, and "good" conversation. He had an infectious laugh, strong shoulder, a generous heart  and a gentle hand that was not opposed to a "Gibbs" head-slap when needed. He was a quiet Christian, never imposing his beliefs on others but more than willing to share his faith- "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. " -Peter 3:15 - with anyone who wondered where his strength came from.

He was a proud American and loved this country and knew more about its history than the majority of those born here.

In his younger years he played semi-pro soccer  until a knee injury forced him to hang up his cleats. Because of his love of soccer he coached his children's soccer teams for several years after. He was a strong, graceful swimmer and at one time a skilled gymnast. Together with his wife and brother-in-laws he created beautiful stained glass windows at the former Drahon Stained Glass Studio. His love of driving was fulfilled when he was hired as a truck driver for Roundy's Inc., twenty-six years ago.

He loved his God, his children, his Auntie Lydia who was like a mother to him, and his extended family-  but most of all he loved me and I had the privilege and the honor to be his wife, his friend, and in the end his caregiver. He was  and will always be the better part of me - he is my heart.

I love you Sascha.
