Richard J. LaValliere of Brooklyn, NY (formerly Milwaukee, WI) passed away unexpectedly Wednesday February 8, 2012 at the age of 59. Dear son of Louise Gaston (nee Willmas). Beloved brother of Anthony LaValliere (Pam) Madison; Cynthia LaValliere, Wauwatosa; Gerard LaValliere, Wautoma; and Douglas LaValliere (Judy Simonds) Austin, TX. Further survived by loving nieces, Mindy Iverson (Wade) Stuttgart, Germany; Melanie LaValliere, Wautoma; nephew Larry Gulbrandson Jr., Milwaukee; adoring great nieces and nephew, Ariana, Alexandra, Alyssa, and William Iverson, Stuttgart, Germany; his beloved dog, Rita; and other relatives and friends. Richard was born February 20, 1952 in Sheboygan, WI. His artistic creativity developed early in his childhood along with his passion for reading. As he approached adolescence he realized his interest in music and began playing guitar. This laid the groundwork for what would become an amazing lifetime of creative expression through his music, art and literature. Richard’s numerous musical collaborations began during high school in Kiel, WI. He went on to become a prominent figure in the Milwaukee music scene until the 1980’s when he chose to follow his dream to New York. He remained in New York until his journey was prematurely concluded. Richard touched the lives of countless people and always left a lasting impression. His style was unique and his essence authentic. Visitation Thursday, February 16 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Funeral Home.
