Lois completed her journey to God’s heavenly home on May 6, 2011, following a long struggle with diabetes, kidney failure and cancer.
She is survived by her husband Gerald Gleason, her daughters Marlene Noe (Kurt), Linda Christnacht (Drake), Cynthia Drake (Alexis), her step-sons Brian (Debbie) and Daniel (Kathy) and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gertrude and Wilbur Collar, her brother Elmer Collar (Mary) and sisters Dorothy, Marie and Sally.
Lois was born in Hortonville, WI on August 31, 1928. She graduated from Hortonville High School where she was a cheerleader and drum majorette. After moving to Milwaukee she trained for certification as a Nursing Assistant and worked for many years as an Aide in the Emergency Room at the former Columbia Hospital. In later years she served as an Aide at the UW-Milwaukee Norris Health Center until her retirement in 1987.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will be held on Friday May 13 at ST. EUGENE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7800 N. Port Washington Rd., Fox Point. Visitation will begin at noon followed by the Mass at 1:00 PM and a luncheon afterwards.
Lois and her family want to express special thanks and sincere gratitude for the excellent care she received at the Horizon Hospice Center in the Columbia St. Mary’s-Oz Hospital and the Seven Oaks Nursing Home in Glendale.
