Of Mequon. Passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Saturday March 13, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband for 68 years of Annabelle (Nee Speropulos). Loving father of Georgia Ann (Joseph) Meshotto, Patricia Ann (Tommy) Reynolds, Robert T. (Diane) Mathews and Nancy Ann Mathews (friend Karen Gorton).Cherished grandpa of Mark (Meloni), Rodney (Jennifer), Kimberly (Jason), Janet (Rusty), Lori (Greg), Matt (Angela), Melinda, Jessica, Sara, and Jonathon. Dear brother of John T. (Lily) Mathews and Lola Mathews. Dear brother in law of John (Esther) Speropulos, Genevieve (the late Art) Hilgendorf and Joanne Speropulos. Further survived by numerous wonderful great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Visitation Tuesday March 16 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the FUNERAL HOME. A Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at LUMEN CHRISTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2700 W. Mequon Rd. corner of N. Range Line Rd. Mequon Private Entombment Roselawn Cemetery, Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 or St. Ann’s Salvatorian Campus, 3800 N. 92nd St. Milwaukee, WI. 53222 appreciated. Prior to his retirement, George was president of Doerr Electric in Cedarburg. During his retirement, George was a volunteer at Columbia-St. Mary’s Ozaukee and a Eucharistic minister at Lumen Christi Parish in Mequon. He left his family with a lot of wonderful memories including a book he recently published about his life for his family.
