It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Susan Maglio, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on October 11, 2026. Sue was born on January 5, 1958, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and graduated from Milwaukee Custer High School, where she met the love of her life, Mike, in 1973. They married in 1977 and shared 49 happy years together, building a family and a lifetime of memories. They loved traveling together, especially to Marco Island, Punta Cana, Jamaica, and Aruba.
Sue worked as a beautician before becoming a full-time homemaker when her son was born. She had an extraordinary gift for making a house a home, creating a place where family, friends, and neighbors always felt welcome. She poured her love and devotion into caring for her family and was the heart of their home. She cherished being a wife and best friend to Mike, a mother to Tony and Jacqueline, and “Nama” to her four grandchildren.
Being cared for by Sue meant no task went undone, no belly went hungry, and no challenge in life was carried alone. She found joy in making others happy and ensured everyone she loved felt that love unconditionally.
Sue is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Tony (Jenny) Maglio; daughter, Jacqueline Maglio (Douglas DeMarco); grandchildren, Halley and Drew Maglio and Henry and Michael DeMarco; and brother, Mike Holba (Arica). She was preceded in death by her father, Walter; mother, Marion; and brother, Martin Holba.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, W250 N6505 Hwy 164 Sussex, WI 53089. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a brief service celebrating her life.
