Richard “Rich” Kenny, age 69, of Germantown, WI, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Rich is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Theresa Kenny (nee Kainz); his children, RJ (Megan), Chandra (John), and Shannon; his precious granddaughters, Rylin and Romilly; his brothers, Steven (Janet) and Gary (Arleen); and his sister, Sue (Dean Ziegelbauer). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all those fortunate enough to have shared a part of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rita Kenny and dear mother-in-law Esther Kainz.

Rich was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 23rd, 1957, and raised in Menomonee Falls, WI. He attended Menomonee Falls High School, and during that time met the love of his life, Theresa. They married shortly after high school and spent the next 47 years building a life filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories. Together, they were devoted Catholics who enjoyed traveling, boating, sporting events, concerts, theater shows, and, above all, spending time with family.

Rich was a tremendously hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He dedicated over 45 years of his life to the same place of work—a reflection of his loyalty, dedication, and strong work ethic. Throughout those years, he built lasting friendships with people who became much more than coworkers; many became lifelong friends.

Rich not only provided for his family, but he showed up for them. He never missed a nightly family dinner, sporting event, performance, celebration, or momentous occasion. 

Quiet by nature but funny at heart, Rich had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed a good joke, a good drink, and good company. He never needed to be the loudest person in the room to make an impression. His quiet presence, quick wit, and ability to make people smile were simply part of who he was.

Rich found some of his greatest happiness in the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he treasured the time he spent in nature and the people he shared it with. He spent countless days deer hunting with his dad, brothers, nephews, and son, creating traditions and memories that will be cherished for generations. He loved fishing up north with his children, spending time on the Mississippi River with friends, and enjoying peaceful mornings alone on Lake Michigan.

There was something especially peaceful about Rich on the water. He loved being out early in the morning, before the rest of the world had awakened, surrounded by the quiet of nature.

In keeping with Rich’s loving and generous spirit, he made the selfless decision to become an organ donor, giving the gift of life so that others may live. His final act of generosity will allow a part of him to live on in others, continuing the legacy of kindness and giving that he carried throughout his life.

A funeral service for Richard will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at St. Anthony Parish (N74W13604 Appleton Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI). Visitation will be held from 9:00–10:00 a.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Family and friends are invited to join together for lunch at Davian’s (N56W16300 Silver Spring Dr, Menomonee Falls, WI) following the service.
