Eric J. Schroeder, 61, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at Angels Grace on August 29, 2026, in Oconomowoc.

Born on September 17, 1964, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Eric was a graduate of Oconomowoc High School and built his life’s work as a carpenter, starting out with his father and continuing his career with Groskopf Construction for 35 years. He was known as a caring, kind, loving, and hardworking man who was always there to help. Those qualities were reflected both in his work and in the many lives he touched over the years.

Eric found enjoyment in life's simple and lasting pleasures, riding motorcycles, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, admiring classic cars, and spending time camping with friends. All these interests brought him great joy and created many wonderful memories throughout his life.

He was deeply loved by his fiancé, Christine King; his stepmother, June; his siblings, Gary (Beth), Greg (Amy), and Debi (Jeff) Bruss; his step-grandchildren; Shayla, Hunter, Kyla, Gunar, Gauge and many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick; his mother, Barbara; and his brothers, Mark and Hans.

Eric will be remembered for the love he showed to others and for the warmth he brought to those around him. He will be missed beyond words, and his light will continue to shine in the lives and hearts of all the lives he touched.

Celebration of life will be held September 19, 2026, from 2pm until 6pm at The Loft and Chapel at Cedar Ridge N7 W23827 Bluemound Rd. Waukesha, WI 53188
