In Loving Memory of Richard Huntemann

Richard Huntemann, born in 1929 to Margaret and Oscar Huntemann, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew him.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his military service, he served as a paratrooper and worked in communications. He also served as a forest firefighter with the Army, an experience that would shape the path of his life and lead him to a career serving his community as a Milwaukee firefighter.

Richard also enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, mowing his lawn, and taking great pride in his outstanding garden. He found joy in watching nature and conversating with the neighbors. He loved watching Packers games and golf, and in his later years he could often be found watching the TV show Friends all day.

Richard carried the courage, discipline, and dedication he learned in the Army into his years as a firefighter. He was a man who understood the importance of helping others, standing strong in difficult moments, and being there when people needed him most.

Richard will be remembered for his service to his country, his dedication to the Milwaukee community, and most importantly, for the love he had for his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha; his son, Curt; and his daughter, Debi Lynn.

Richard is survived by his grandchildren, Wesley (Sourabhi), Kim (Jeff), Aaron (Ciara), Tony (Mary), Jared (Raquel), and Angie (Luke), as well as nine great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy and continued his family legacy.

Following Richard’s later years, his daughter-in-law Shirley, grandson Wesley and special friend of the family Dani, provided him with special care, allowing him to remain in his home for as long as possible. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Pro Health Care Hospice and Angels Grace for the exceptional care and compassion they provided Richard in his final days.

Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, service, and family. The memories he created and the lives he touched will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved him.

May Richard rest peacefully re-united with Martha, Curt, and Debi, and may his years of service, devotion to his family, and the memories he created never be forgotten.
