John A. Peterson, 92, died peacefully at home with family at his side on August 1, 2026. Beloved husband of Gretchen for 70 years. Cherished father of Gregory, Margaret (Robert) Pinkham, Molly (Jim) Montrie, Lisa (Mike) Brielmaier, and Mike (Rebecca Thomas). Proud grandfather of Lauren (Dan), John (Catarina), Libby (Ryan), Willie, Penny, Justin, Elle (Alex), Claire (Anthony), Grace (Sergio), Joe, Sam, Tommy, Jack, and Romy. And great-grandfather of 10. He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Florence, sister Jo Ann (Earl) Anderson, and infant daughter, Lucy Jane.

John graduated from Cretin High School, St. Paul, MN and the University of Minnesota. He served in the US Army as a first lieutenant. John then began a successful business career, being president of four companies. After retirement, he became an active volunteer in many organizations. John was a devoted Christian and loved serving his church community. He was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an avid sports fan who also enjoyed reading, traveling, and playing golf with family and friends.

Visitation will be at Lumen Christi (2750 W Mequon Rd, Mequon) on Friday, August 7, from 10:30 am until time of eulogy at 11:45. Mass at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in parish cemetery.
