It is with deep sorrow, yet with joyful confidence in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Ronald Robin McCord, who went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2026, just days after his 89th birthday.
Ron was born on July 18, 1937 in Little Rock, AR to Marks and Hazel (Verg) McCord. He was raised in Wauwatosa, WI, where his love of sports and friendly competitive spirit were evident from an early age. He shined in basketball, football, and tennis while attending Wauwatosa High School, graduating with the Class of 1955. In later years he faithfully supported the Brewers, Packers, Bucks and Badgers. An accomplished golfer, Ron loved both playing the game and following professional golf. He also greatly enjoyed fishing.
Ron possessed a remarkable gift for storytelling and a genuine interest in people, which led him to study Journalism and Advertising at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Following graduation, Ron joined the United States Army Reserves. He proudly served his country for six years, including twice being called to active duty.
As Public Relations Director for the Wisconsin Heart Association, Ron met the love of his life, Joline Rahlf. They were married on June 11, 1966, beginning a beautiful partnership built on faith, love, and hard work. Ron then accepted a position as an Associate Director of the National Association for Mental Health in New York City. Three years later, he and Joline, now blessed with two young daughters, returned to the Milwaukee area to build the life they envisioned together.
Ron found his professional calling in commercial real estate, specializing in hotel and motel sales. Ron and Joline built a successful real estate business and eventually owned six lodging properties. He generously gave his time and leadership over several decades, serving on numerous committees and board of directors within Wisconsin and national lodging organizations.
Ron derived great satisfaction from serving others. A longtime member of Elmbrook Church, he and Joline began collecting used mobility equipment (i.e. wheelchairs, crutches, canes and walkers) while partnering with several organizations such as Wheels for the World. Their work resulted in hundreds of items being distributed in Haiti and other countries around the world. They joined a rebuilding team which traveled to Joplin, MO after a horrific tornado, and Ron was always willing to help pack meals for children in Haitian orphanages.
Of all the blessings God entrusted to Ron, none meant more to him than his family. He delighted in gatherings, telling stories, making people laugh, taking trips together, encouraging those around him, and celebrating life's milestones both big and small.
Ron is lovingly survived by his wife of 60 years, Joline; his daughters, Kimberly (Brian) Mackey and Jennifer (Richard) Church; his grandsons, Ethan (Hailey) Mackey and Zachary Church; his sister, Susan (John) Brauer; his sisters-in-law, Judith McCord, Sandra McCord, and Rochelle Beres; his nieces, Anne (James) McSilver and Aimee (Nate) Whaley; his nephew, Quinten (Stacey) McCord; and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his two dear brothers, Terry McCord and James McCord.
Ron’s legacy of faith, integrity, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
A Memorial Service celebrating Ron's life and the hope found in Christ will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls, WI. Visitation from 10-11:15 AM. Service at 11:30 AM, including a time for sharing memories of Ron. A light lunch will follow.
