Roger Dean Reetz
August 1, 1941 - July 15, 2026

Age 84, of Mequon, died peacefully under hospice care on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon.

Born on August 1, 1941, Roger grew up in Neshkoro, Wisconsin, the son of Walter and LaVera Reetz. He spent his childhood on the family farm, where he learned the values of hard work, humility, and service.

Roger graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1963. He built a respected career and served as a tax leader at Parker Pen in Janesville and later at Manpower in Milwaukee, where he was known not only for his expertise but for the way he treated people.

Faith was the foundation of Roger’s life. He was a devoted member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Janesville and later of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Mequon, where he gave his time, talent, and worship in countless ways. He was especially proud of his work in restoring the Beautiful Savior Cemetery. Roger was part of a dedicated church group and contributed with his own hands, creating a dignified and peaceful place for generations. He will join Kay and Pam, who are already buried there.

Roger was married to Kay Reetz for 59 years. Kay passed away on April 10, 2023, and Roger often spoke of how grateful he was for the life they had built together. He also loved spending time with Kay’s extended family in Westfield. He was the loving father of Jon (Lisa), Patrick (Angie), and the late Pamela Reetz. He was a devoted grandfather to Eileen, Evan, Jason, and Megan, and the late Joshua. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and LaVera Reetz, his wife Kay, his daughter Pamela, and several of Kay’s siblings. He is survived by Kay’s sister, Sue (Slowey), many nieces and nephews.

In retirement, Roger returned to his roots in gardening and landscaping. He loved sharing his tools and equipment with friends and family, and he continued to give generously to his church and family at Beautiful Savior. He was grateful for the many relationships he had there and for the friendships that brought him joy until the end.

Roger touched so many lives. He is remembered for his quiet strength, his deep faith, and the way he made others feel valued and loved. He used his talents to support youth organizations during his son’s involvement and continued to serve in retirement through his work at the church.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 12:30  PM to the time of Funeral Services at 1:30 PM at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 11313 North Riverland Road in Mequon.
