Jo Ann passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, at the age of 84. She was the daughter of Wendell C. and Margaret E. Dean, née McVey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara, and her daughter Karen Lynn. She is survived by her son Peter Duncan and his husband Jeff Margenau, her grandchildren Tyler and Zach, and her great-granddaughter SkyLynn.

Jo Ann was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan. During her 40-year nursing career, she worked in many areas of the profession, but psychiatric nursing was her true passion. She enjoyed her many trips to Ireland, classical music, and spending time with her grandkids.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the many healthcare professionals who cared for Jo Ann over the years, including Dr. Vento and her wonderful staff, the Oconomowoc Memorial Emergency Department, Dave and the team at Prescription Center, the Waukesha Memorial care team, and the firefighter/EMS personnel who occasionally came to her aid. The team at Linden Grove memory care unit have our deepest gratitude for the care provided.

Jo Ann’s funeral will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 800 Lake Dr. Oconomowoc visitation will be from 10am until time of service at 11am.
