Rene A. Hollencamp

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother.  Rene Hollencamp, age 93, passed away at Azura Memory Care in Mukwonago, Wisconsin on April 20, 2026.  She was born in Highbridge, Wisconsin on April 17, 1933 to William and Dorothy Kruzan.  She spent her childhood years in Highbridge and attended Mellen Public School K-12.

After graduating from high school she moved to the Township of Randall to be with her family. She met the love of her life Charles A. Hollencamp son of Albert and Laura Hollencamp.  They were married on October 11, 1952 in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin and were together for 62 years before Charles passed away in 2014.

When her children were old enough Rene took a job as “lunch lady” at the Randall Grade School across the street from her home where she eventually took on the head position and continued working there for many years before retiring.  After retirement Charles and Rene enjoyed taking their children and grandchildren on an annual summer vacation to Big St. Germain Lake in northern Wisconsin to fish, relax and enjoy family time.  That family tradition has been carried on since.  Rene was a very active member in her church prior to Charles' passing.  She served by helping out with funeral luncheons, counting money, and was a greeter.  She enjoyed playing solitaire and working on her word search puzzles.  She loved to cook, bake and talk about recipes.  She sure loved her Wisconsin sports teams.  Badger football and basketball, Packers, along with the Brewers were always on her TV.

Rene is survived by 3 sons, Craig Hollencamp, Dale Hollencamp, Thomas (Wendy) Hollencamp, and one daughter Kim (Robert) Movrich.  A brother, Robert Kruzan and a sister Gail (Robert) Sankey.  Loving Grandmother to Nicole (Jesse) White, Katherine (Jason) Dennis, Cari (Ryan) McBurney, Markus (Kayla) Movrich, Matthew (Jenna Luke) Movrich. Plus 10 Great Grandchildren, Alexis, Marissa, and Haylie White.  Zachary, Gabriella, and Michaela Dennis.  Aidan and Preston McBurney.  Sawyer and Oakley Movrich.  Rene also cherished her nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband Charles, Rene was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Kruzan, daughter in-law Jan Hollencamp, sister in-laws Marge Kruzan, Loraine Thompson, Joan Arnold, and Ethel Hollencamp, brother in-laws Mark Thompson, Elmer Arnold, James Hollencamp, and nephew Jeffrey Kruzan.

We would like to thank ProHealthCare Waukesha Memorial Orthopedic and Cardiac staff, Linden Grove Rehab in Mukwonago, also a very special thank you to Azura Memory Care and Hospice especially Jessica and Janet (hospice nurses), Heidi (hospice social worker), Jaime (resident nurse), all the CNA's, along with Ally, Shawna and Emma who helped us through every process.  Even though mom's stay was short we appreciate you all immensely.  Your care and kindness you showed towards our mom and our family will always be remembered.
