Ralph E. Modjeska
December 7, 1942 - March 4, 2026

With profound sadness and a heavy heart we share the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend Ralph Modjeska. Ralph was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on March 4th, 2026. He was the third child of four siblings, born on December 7, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Frank and Leona Modjeska.

He attended Don Bosco High School where he excelled in sports. After a short stint in the Navy, he was recruited into minor league baseball by the St. Louis Cardinals. He met the love of his life, Nannette, during this time, and they quickly eloped. He then started his career in fire fighting with the Milwaukee Fire Department where he spent 30 years serving the community as both a fire fighter and a paramedic EMT. Never being one to sit still, he also sold insurance during this time to support his family. After retiring, he turned to his religious calling and love for Jesus, and became first a chaplain, and then an ordained deacon at the Charismatic Episcopal Church in 2018 at the age of 75. He continued his passions well into his 80s, coaching baseball at Lake Country Lutheran and serving the Lake Country area fire departments as their chaplain.

Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nannette of 57 years and his son Edward. He is survived by Edward’s wife (Connie), his daughter Amy (Frank), his son Michael (Carolyn), as well as his grandchildren Brayden (Amy), Ashton (Anna), Jacob, Katelyn, Monica, four great grandchildren, and his sister Cathy (Joe).

Although he no longer walks among us, his kind and gentle soul, lasting ministry and ability to comfort others will live on in the countless lives he touched.
