Mark lived 65 full years and filled them with kindness, laughter, and a refusal to throw anything away that "might still be useful.”

Born on September 15, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mark spent his life enjoying the outdoors.

Whether he was hunting, fishing, camping, or simply spending time with his family and friends, he always had a smile on his face. Mark passed away at home on January 18, 2026, leaving behind a world that feels so different without him.

Mark will always be remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Mickey Pelzman; his three children, Steve, Kelsie (Zach), and Brian (Alexis); his mother, Marlene Pelzman; his sisters, Nancy Rybold (Dave) and Barbara Polenski (John); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Pelzman, and his brother, John Pelzman, whom he missed dearly.

Mark loved traveling out west, listening to old country music, and playing solitaire. He was happiest when he was with his wife and kids, nurturing his garden, or reading and learning about something new.

Those who knew him will remember his infectious laugh, his ability to problem-solve, and the way he loved so fully.

Mark taught us to always try our best at whatever life threw at us, to respect and love nature, and how to convince Ruger to finally drop the ball into his hand. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in our hearts and will help guide us wherever the next chapter takes us.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, W250N6505 Hwy 164 Sussex, WI 53089, from 3:00-5:00PM followed by a memorial service at 5:00PM 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Association in honor of Mark and all those who have been affected by heart related diseases.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and the paramedics and EMTs for their compassionate care and dedicated service.
