Of Pewaukee, surrounded by family, found peace on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the age of 64 years. She was born in West Allis on August 8, 1961,  daughter of the late John and Helen Downs.

Mary married Charles E. Fleischman on June 14, 1984.  She started her career at North Shore bank in 1988 and was a dedicated employee.  Mary continued her path in banking working her way up to Supervisor in the Mortgage Lending Department, until her retirement in 2023.  She was adventurous at heart; her wide array of adventures sent her soaring through the skies by obtaining her pilots' license, skydiving, and riding her motorcycle. She also enjoyed trying new cuisine, and cross-country skiing. Throughout her life she endured many health challenges with strength, composure and resiliency. Her sense of humor always kept those she shared time with laughing and enjoying her company. Mary’s kind heart and generous spirit will forever be cherished.

Mary will be dearly missed by her Daughter, Catherine (Fiancée Jessica) Fleischman; siblings, Nancy Holewinski, John (Tammy) Downs, Jennifer (Jay) Karsten, and Kara (Scott) Doffek; nieces and nephews, Ben, Shannon (Victor), Eric, Nicole, Justin (Shaina), Nick, Trey, Kori (Kurt), Ty, Cale, Belle and Bjorn (Amanda), Kevin, Carolyn; sister-in-law, Mary Downs (Andrew) and Paula (Grieg), brother-in-law Leo (Debbie), and mother and father-in-law Les and Leo Fleischman; best friends, Lisa Sanfilippo, Tracy Peterson and her much loved dog Walter. Mary is further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents; and brother Tim.

The celebration of life for Mary will be held on  Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Sussex from 12Noon until the memorial service at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated, to be donated to the charity of their choice at a later date.
