Called Home to His Savior – November 20, 2025

Michael “Mike” Prud’Homme entered the loving arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on November 20, 2025 at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with cancer. A man of unwavering faith, steady devotion, and selfless love, Mike lived his life as a protector and provider for those dearest to him. His heart was always turned toward serving others, whether within his church community or wherever God placed someone in his path.

For 50 beautiful years, Mike shared his life with his beloved wife, Cathy, the love of his life. Their story began with love at first sight at Virmond Park, and together they built a family rooted in faith and enduring commitment. Cathy recalls that after they were married, he often told her, “I always knew I was going to marry you.”

One of their greatest joys was biking countless miles side by side, cherishing the simple gift of time spent together.

Mike was a member of Steamfitters Local 601 for over five decades and worked at the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District for over 30 years. His work ethic was marked by integrity, reliability, and pride in a job well done.

Even through years of health challenges, including back, neck, and shoulder surgeries and later cancer, Mike continued to persevere. His strength, resilience, and courage became a living example to his children and grandchildren, who adored him.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Cathy, and their children Scott (Chrissy) Prud’Homme and Michelle (Kevin) Standlee.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Aidan, Noah, Faith, Brie, and Opal, who will deeply miss his presence and encouragement. Whether he was coaching basketball, cheering at baseball games, enjoying music concerts, or showing up for any event, Mike was always there with his unwavering support.

Mike is further survived by his cherished sister, Kari (Ron) Kuchenreuther, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who describe him as supportive, encouraging, and steadfast. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elroy and Frances Prud’Homme, his sister Jackie (Pat) Nielson, and his sister and brother-in-law Charlene and Rich Sala.

Even in his final days, Mike never lost his determination or his faith. When his earthly strength could carry him no further, he found perfect peace and rest in Jesus.

In lieu of flowers, Mike wished for donations to be made to Micah Ministries at Northbrook Church, a ministry dedicated to restoring the lives of those affected by human trafficking, an effort close to his heart.

Mike’s life was a testament to love, service, endurance, and faith. His family rejoices knowing he is now healed and whole, welcomed into eternity with the Savior he trusted throughout his life.
