William R. Schier
September 15, 1925 - November 6, 2025

William “Bill” Schier, age 100, of Wauwatosa, WI, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 15, 1925, to Anna Clara and William J. Schier, and recently celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by those who loved him most.

Bill was a proud World War II veteran who faithfully served his country. After returning home, he built a life grounded in hard work, family, and faith. A skilled and dedicated construction professional, he took great pride in his work and left a lasting mark on his community — creating spaces filled with the same care, strength, and love that he poured into his own family.

Bill’s faith was an essential part of his life. He was an active and devoted member of the Lutheran Church, serving in the choir and as a council member. His voice, commitment, and kindness enriched his church community for many years.

Family meant everything to Bill. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who led with kindness, patience, humor, and generosity. His life was full of joyful gatherings — magical Christmas celebrations, summer afternoons by the pool, birthday parties, and countless ordinary days made special just by being together.

He was a positive, gracious man who inspired everyone around him to work hard, stay kind, and never give up. His warmth and steady presence made people feel loved and at home, wherever he was.

Bill is survived by his four children: Kathy, David (Martha), Nancy, and Diane; ten grandchildren and their spouses; ten great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and his “adopted daughter” and dear friend, Lori (John) and their family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris; his daughter-in-law, Sheila; his parents, Anna Clara and William; his brothers, Melvin, Norman, Roy, and Earl; and his sister, Shirley.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 10th at the Faith and Education Center at Luther Manor 4545 N. 92nd. St. Wauwatosa. at the Faith and Education Center at Luther Manor.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church or The Luther Manor Foundation.

Bill’s love, laughter, faith, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
