God has taken Pat's hand for her journey to heaven. Patricia Palmer Benway of Shorewood, has passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at the age of 84.

Beloved wife of Roger Benway for 55 wonderful years. Cherished mother of John, Jeff, James (Lisa), Katie (Paul) Cousineau, and Carrie (Paul) Town. Proud grandmother of Cori and Liam; Anthony, Nick, David, Matthew, and Robert; Patrick, Jack, and Annie; Addison, Tyler, and Nathan.

Pat was preceded in death by her loving parents, Linda and John; her dear brother Jack(Marge), and her beloved niece Therese.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, great- great aunt and a treasured friend to many. She lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and service—always putting others before herself. A graduate of Shorewood High School and Mount Mary University, Pat dedicated her career to social work, serving at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Luther Manor, and Stowell & Associates. She also generously volunteered her time with Interfaith, continuing her lifelong commitment to helping others.

She loved deeply and unconditionally—especially her family, extended family, friends, and grandchildren. Pat found joy in “grandma days,” road trips, family vacations, dinners, game nights, and adventures with friends. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral home in Mequon Sunday, November 23rd from 4 PM until 6 PM.  Visitation on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2750 W. Mequon Road, Mequon from 10 AM until the time of Memorial Mass at 11 AM.  Private burial at Valhalla Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Pat’s memory.
