It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Serio, who left us peacefully on November 9th at the age of 65 after many years of courageously facing serious health challenges.

Born on January 14th, 1960 in Milwaukee, Kevin lived a life marked by resilience, kindness, and quiet strength. Though his journey was often difficult, he defied the odds time and again—living a longer and fuller life than doctors ever expected and doing so with remarkable grace, humor, and determination. His steadfast positivity and will to live inspired everyone who knew him.

Kevin is survived by his loving sister, Kathy Creel (Tom Hagen); his cherished nephew, Kristopher Creel; niece, Jessica (John) Zelinski, and their children Cael and Keagan. He is also survived by extended family who will forever remember his generous spirit, his laughter, and his deep love for family. Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Roy and Shirley.

Kevin was blessed with dear friends who were like family - Steve Nerad, Greg Jackson and Mike Stolar – as well as countless others who held a special place in his heart. His family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the incredible caregivers who supported Kevin with love and compassion, welcoming him into their homes, sharing holidays, and taking him on adventures that enriched his life in countless ways. Your kindness allowed Kevin to live fully, and we are forever thankful.

Those who knew Kevin will remember him as someone who met life’s challenges head-on, refusing to be defined by them. He found joy in small moments, strength in perseverance, and comfort in the love of those closest to him. His courage and warmth will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.

We invite family and friends to join us in honoring the life of Kevin Serio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Wauwatosa. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:30 a.m.

May he rest now in peace, free from pain, and remembered always with love.
