Of Sussex. Passed peacefully at home November 7, 2025 at the age of 85. Loving husband to Marybeth for 47 years. Cherished Dad of Andrea (Joseph) Kleist, Rebecca (Andrew) Russ, Olivia (Corey) Kahut and Sara Horne. Proud Grandpa of Jesse, Jonathan, Rose, Daisy, Elliana, Cassandra, Cole, Hazel and Emmalyn. Further survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. 

David was preceded in death by 9 brothers and 1 sister. 

David was a hard-working dairy farmer in the town of Lisbon for many years. He loved being outdoors and was a man of many talents. He enjoyed gardening, cross-country skiing, and spending time with his grandchildren. David was talented at woodworking and had made dulcimers, banjos, children's toys along with many other projects including a beloved rocking horse that has passed from his daughters to his grandchildren. He was handy at fixing most anything and loved to tinker in his toolshed. He and Marybeth enjoyed sitting in his hunting shack that overlooked the marsh relaxing and watching the wildlife. Many precious memories were made there deer hunting with his sons-in-law and grandsons. David never grew tired of telling stories of the olden days, both the hard times and the good. He often reminisced about the team of black Percheron horses he worked with in the fields as a youth. His love for his family, tender heart, and wealth of knowledge will be deeply missed.  

A private burial will be held at Lisbon Central Cemetery.
