Gene Angelo Halaska (Flores) 68, passed away on August 6, 2025. He was born on November 2, 1956, and lived a life full of passion, laughter, and love.

Gene, fondly known as “Disc Dog”, was happiest with a disc in his hand. For more than three decades, he devoted countless Saturdays to the game of disc golf, building friendships and community along the way. Disc golf wasn’t just a hobby for Gene—it was his true passion and the place he felt most alive.

He was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan, cheering on his team with unwavering loyalty through every season.

Gene’s heart was as big as his spirit. Gene is survived by his wife, Maria. He was a loving brother, brother in law, and uncle. He was cherished by his many brothers and sisters, nieces, and nephews. His warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Gene’s life and his love for disc golf at a memorial event later this year.
