(nee Schmackle) Went home to the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Dennis. Loving mother of Cindy (Joe) Zimmerman and Karen (the late John) Reed. Cherished grandmother of Jessica, Monique, Arsenio, Diamond, John and Rebecca. Proud great-grandmother of Jalen, Elijah, Jeremiah and Isiah. Dearest sister of Glen (Margo), Roger (Jeannie), Alan (Cherie) and Dawn (Darin) Magin. Further survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Vera is preceded in death by her brothers Jim and Gary, and parents Harold and Irma Schmackle.
Vera dedicated 55 years of her career to Molded Rubber and Plastic Corp before retiring. She was a longtime member of a bowling league, proudly participating for 25 years. She also gave her time and talents as a volunteer with the Lions and Butler community events. Vera enjoyed the outdoors, and she could often be found on her front porch, sitting with friends and chatting with neighbors.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 7 from 2PM until time of Funeral Service at 5PM at Schmidt & Bartelt – Sussex; W250 N6505 Hwy 164. Private inurnment will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery in Lannon.
