(nee Heier), Of Menomonee Falls. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away August 25, 2025 at the age of 72.
Cindy was born to Gordon Heier (in heaven) and Esther Heier (nee Dettmering) in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and grew up surrounded by her loving siblings Daniel (Tamara), Larry (Geri), Thomas (Mickie), Mark (Elizabeth), and Shelley (Kelly).
Cindy later married the love of her life, Stan Smith, whom she reconnected with at a high school reunion. She gained a sister-in-law Teri (Cheryl). Together they created a beautiful blended family built on love, respect, and shared joy. She was the proud mother of Naomi (Paul), Frederick (Staci), and Skye (Shan), and a devoted bonus mom to Keri (Ryan) and Kyle (Danyel). Her greatest joy was being “Grandma,” “Oma” or “Paw Paw” to Nolan, Wyatt, Jayden, Vera, Evelyn, Kendra, Brody, and Evan.
She dedicated her career to nursing, caring for others with the same compassion, patience, and kindness she showed her family and friends. Cindy touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and selflessness.
In her free time, Cindy loved crafting, reading, golfing and bowling. She brought her humor, energy, and friendly competitiveness wherever she went. Most of all, she loved being with her family—celebrating milestones, making memories, and offering unconditional love and support.
Cindy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her—someone whose laughter was contagious, whose heart was open, and whose strength inspired everyone around her.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 2pm at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls. The family will greet friends 12 Noon until the time of the Service.
