James "Jim" J. Hirt
November 19, 1938 - May 1, 2025

James (Jim) Jacob Hirt passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2025. Survived by his wife Alice Catherine (Myers) Hirt and his children Laurie (Tim) Hanson, Jeff (Heather Prahl), Jodi (Tom Scardina), and Lisa (Bradley) Blaeser. Grandfather to Rachel Hofmann, Andrew Hanson, Kayla and Nathan Hirt, and Benjamin Blaeser. Brother to Anthony Hirt, Joanne Hirt, and Sr. Maria Theresa Hirt. Preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Loretta Hirt, and his parents-in-law Eugene and Florence Myers.

Jim was a man of many talents and interests. An avid tennis player and accomplished financial planner, he balanced his professional success with a love for creativity. He played an integral part with the Glenview Players, where his most treasured role was portraying Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. Entertaining audiences and sharing his passion for performance with those around him brought Jim great joy.

Jim also found great happiness in the outdoors, enjoying camping trips and spending time with the family on the annual trips to the north woods. His sense of adventure and playful spirit shone brightly during fun-filled snipe hunts with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

As a self-proclaimed “grill master,” Jim delighted in creating culinary magic with Sheboygan hard rolls, Johnsonville brats, and perfectly seasoned hamburgers. His grilling became a cherished tradition at family gatherings, bringing loved ones together with great food and fun memories.

Jim found deep fulfillment in music and enjoyed his time as a member of the St. Jude Choir. The experience of singing and the camaraderie of the choir were deeply rewarding.

Known affectionately as the “entertainer of all entertainers,” Jim was the captain of the ship we call life. He taught those around him the value of living their best life, striving for their goals and finding happiness in each moment. His infectious enthusiasm and unwavering support will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
