Diane B. Schiedemeyer
November 25, 1939 - May 2, 2025

Diane Bernice Schiedemeyer (née Umbreit) passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, at the age of 85. Born on November 25, 1939, in Milwaukee, Diane lived a full and joyful life grounded in love, humor, and devotion to her family.

She is survived by her daughters Wendy Seebantz, Jill Seebantz, and Linda Seebantz-Thompson (Charles Thompson); her cherished grandchildren Daniel LaGesse (Nila Novak), Lauren Hajek (Nathanial Tscharner), and Nicholas Hanke (Julie Wallschlaeger); and her beloved great-grandchildren Keeley Schultz, Cyril LaGesse, Sophia Hajek, and Hella LaGesse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Schiedemeyer; her parents, Annette and Loren Umbreit; and her brother, Gary Umbreit and his wife Diane Umbreit..

Diane worked for many years as an office manager for an architectural firm in Milwaukee, where her keen eye for color and design earned her a hand in shaping the look and feel of various retail and banking spaces throughout the area. At home, she and her husband built a life filled with laughter, shared adventures, and a deep love for family.

Diane had a natural flair for hospitality—she loved cooking for her family, trying new recipes, old family recipes, and sharing stories around the table. Her great joy came from time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially treasured time spent at the family’s lake house in northern Wisconsin, where friends and family often surrounded her. Riding her snowmobile through the winter woods satisfied her need for speed and adventure. A proud member and spirited newsletter writer for the Plat 5 Snowmobile Club, Diane was known for her quick wit, clever commentary, and infectious laugh.

Diane was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls, and her faith quietly shaped her fair-minded, kind, and loving approach to life. She had a sharp sense of humor, a warm heart, and a down-to-earth spirit. She loved her dogs—and her grand-dogs—and always had a treat and a gentle word for the four-legged family members.

Before her health declined, Diane loved a 5:00 martini, a classic Wisconsin Friday night fish fry, and cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Diane's memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

The family wishes to thank Legacy Hospice and Auberge at Oak Village for the loving care and support they provided to Diane during her final year.

A gathering of family and friends will be held to honor her life.

The services for Diane will be held Friday May 9th, 2025, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave. Menomonee Falls WI. 53051.
