Barbara grew up in Milwaukee, WI in the Riverwest neighborhood. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1956. She married Dale Winter on July 23, 1960, and they raised their 4 children together in Milwaukee, moving to Hartland, WI in 1976. When her children were young, she took great pride being a stay-at-home mom; sewing her families clothes, baking wonderful desserts and keeping an immaculate home. When her children were grown, she worked as a calendar clerk in the Waukesha County Courthouse for over 21 years. In her retirement she enjoyed singing in the church choir at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Pewaukee, traveling, dancing anywhere there was music, crocheting and golfing. But her true joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When she spoke of her family, she would say with pride, "There's not a bum in the bunch, and they are all so good looking."
The family would like to thank the staffs of Sylvan Crossings of Jefferson and Rainbow Hospice of Johnson Creek for their care and compassion in her final years.
