Steven M. Jones, 69, of Germantown, WI passed peacefully on Oct 16, 2023 surrounded by his family, after doing something he loved – working on his home with his best friends.

Steve was born in Milwaukee, WI to parents Richard and Mary (Crivello) Jones on May 29, 1954. As a child, Steve enjoyed spending time with his large Sicilian family, including three sisters and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Later, Steve became an avid Harley rider and loved spending time with his friends. Steve met his wife, Sheree Lane, while working as a bartender at Saz’s in Milwaukee on Halloween weekend in 1982. The two were married 3 years later on May 11, 1985. Steve and Sheree had two children together, Christopher (‘87) and Alexandria (‘91), and made wonderful memories together during their 38 years of marriage. Steve was an incredible father, and above all, this was his proudest achievement.

Steve spent most of his adult life working as a Project Coordinator at DavCo Development, where he formed wonderful, life-long friendships. He was an extremely hard worker, loved staying busy, and was opinionated about almost everything. One of his favorite ways to spend his time was doing anything with family,  including concerts, sporting events, traveling, or just enjoying time together in their family home – family was everything to him. He was a true Wisconsin sports fan, always rooting for the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers, and usually thought he had better ideas for the team than the coach. He found joy in many simple things in life: good live music, golfing with his friends, Italian food (especially pizza), a cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle, a good beer or glass of wine, and any John Grisham book. 

Steve’s greatest joy was being a Dad and Grandpa. He was the best Papa to his twin Granddaughters, Monroe and Maren, who loved any moment they could spend with him. He had the biggest smile on his face when they were around, especially when watching them “perform” their greatest hits.

Steve will be deeply missed by his family, his extensive group of friends, and his dog, Jordy. He is survived by wife Sheree (Lane) Jones, son Christopher Jones, daughter-in-law Megan (Reiss) Jones, Granddaughters Monroe and Maren Jones, daughter Allie (Jones) Spiva, son-in-law Neil Spiva, sisters Theresa Smith-Jones and Patricia Jones-Cooper, nephews Anthony Cooper, Andrew Stenberg, and Michael Cooper, and nieces Sarah Cooper, Christina (Cooper) Jewell and her husband, Corlin Jewell, and sister-in-law Holly (Lane) Houston and her partner Lisa Patefield. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Mary (Crivello) Jones and sister Mary (Jones) Smidt. 

The family would like to thank the wonderful team at Froedtert Medical of Milwaukee for the excellent care Steve received during his final days. Visitation to celebrate Steve’s life will be held at Schmidt And Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls, WI on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 9:00am-11:00am, with a service immediately following.
