Lois Margwarth
July 27, 1932 - March 5, 2022

Lois found peace in the arms of the Lord surrounded by family on March 5, 2022.

Preceded in death by her beloved husbands Philip Burton Cramton (30 years) and Grant Margwarth (11 years), parents Alfred and Anne Feldmann (nee Fleischhacker) and her grandson Deven Patterson.

Lois was a loving sister to James Feldmann (Sandy); a devoted mother of Anne (Joseph) Lortie, Jean (Fred) Darlington, Mary Beth (William) Monday, Julie (Steven) Vincent, John (Claire) Cramton, James (Cat) Cramton and Grant’s daughter Lynn Streff. Lois is further survived by her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Evan (Suzy) Lortie and their children Josie and Felicity, Brenna (David) Thering and their children Hopkins and Pemberley, Courtney (Ryan) Lavorgna and their children Sydney and Blake, Fred Darlington, Michael (Taylor) Darlington, Hannah (Patrick) Cahill, Abigail Monday, Charles Monday, Maddie Vincent, Zach Vincent, Emma Cramton, Olivia Cramton, Zoe Jeziorski, Silver Cramton, Ben (Juliana) Streff and their children Oliver and Luke, Katy Ross and her children Kaelynn and Brekkan, Caroline (Brian) Streff, Josiah Streff, and Jonathan Streff; nephews Mark (Shari) Feldmann, Christopher (Laura) Feldmann and many dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Lois lived her life with faith, gratitude and love, making the most out of every situation. Always willing to give of herself and lend a hand, she participated in and led many types of organizations: St. Mary’s of Elm Grove prayer and ministry groups, The Christ Child Society of Milwaukee, Elm Grove Women’s Club, Co-founder of The Lois Club of Milwaukee, Girl Scout leader, and election poll volunteer. During her time at St. Camillus, Lois was active as a Floor Representative, Bingo caller and participated in many roles for the St. Camillus Chapel.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lois attended high school at Holy Angels Academy and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in Education. Lois and Phil moved to Beacon Hill, MA where they enjoyed numerous excursions to the beach and NYC for Broadway shows. After stints in NJ and NY, the family settled back in Elm Grove, WI. Lois was an avid traveler and appeared to be a magnet for fellow traveling Wisconsinites. Some of her favorite road trips included Eagle River, Door County, Mackinac Island, Alaska, the East Coast, Virginia, California, Tennessee and Florida, many times visiting her children and grandchildren along the way. She also enjoyed many cruises, “Lois” conventions and international travel to Germany, Italy and Israel.

Not only did Lois enjoy attending a good party, she was also a consummate hostess of her own. From birthday parties to Halloween Scavenger hunts, formal dinners to bridge club luncheons, costumed events to food pantry donations, mom fed her friends fun, jello molds and love. It was also understood that mom never missed an opportunity to play Bridge, Bingo, Yahtzee, word games or go to a luncheon with friends. It is a great testament to her nature that she formed so many long lasting friendships over the years.

The family is grateful for the compassion and loving support provided by the many caregivers and friends throughout her time in her apartment and during her stay at the skilled nursing facility at St. Camillus. A special thank you to the hospice staff and the pastoral care ministry during mom’s final days.

Please join us in celebrating her life on March 10, 2022. A visiting hour will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM followed by Mass of Christian Burial from 2:00 – 3:00 PM in the Chapel at St. Camillus West Independent Living Residence, 10200 W Bluemound Rd, Wauwatosa WI 53226.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Christ Child Society of Milwaukee, for whom Lois volunteered many hours throughout her lifetime.
