Dennis H. Asmus
December 3, 1938 - February 24, 2022

Dennis H. Asmus of Germantown, Wisconsin, 83 went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 24, 2022, after a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s.

Dennis, son of Harvey and Elfrieda (Thiessen)Asmus, born December 3, 1938. He was raised in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1956. Upon graduation he attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison and received a bachelor's degree in American History in 1960. In 1961 he went with the National Guard and was activated into the regular Army at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington. In 1964 he earned a bachelor's degree in Law and then went on to receive a bachelor's degree in Accounting in 1965. He then completed the CPA exam before starting his accounting career.

Dennis started work with Ernst & Ernst in January of 1966 and finished his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in June 2002. Then started his own business in 2003, Dennis Asmus & Associates with the help of his daughters. During this time, he also helped Kay with the care and raising of their 4 children and many grandchildren.

He was on the board of the Boerner Botanical Gardens, Milwaukee Tax Club, Milwaukee Estate Planning Council and the WICPA. He was an avid reader of history and politics. Later in life he was baptized at Northbrook Church and joined the Board of Elders and helped establish their finance committee.

He loved to take trips with the grandkids to Old World Wisconsin where he was a supporter. He was an avid model train enthusiast and loved to fly kites.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Harriet Minett and granddaughter Marie (Stoffel) Valentino.

Dennis is survived and will be greatly missed by Kay, his loving wife of 61 years, 4 children, Mark Asmus of North Lake, Wisconsin, Cheri (Daniel) Stoffel of Allenton, Wisconsin, Brett Asmus of North Lake, Wisconsin, and Amy (Tim) Tremmel of North Lake, Wisconsin; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at Northbrook Church ( 4014 WI. 167 Richfield)  on March 11th visitation starting at noon with a service at 2pm.
