Richard C. (Dick) Hoffman age 83, died peacefully of complications from a fall on July 9, 2018, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

 

Visitation and Service: visitation will be from 1:00p – 2:00p and will be immediately followed by the service at 2:00p, July 15, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church W156 N8131 Pilgrim Rd., Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

 

Officiating: Pastor Meredith Bedker Musaus, Holy Cross Lutheran Church

 

Donations: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dick’s memory.

 

Survivors: Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Donna Hoffman (nee Manning);

5 children: Chuck (Peg) Hoffman, Jeanne (Tim) Brusseau, Vicki (Jim) Baker, Dave (Kim) Hoffman, and Rob (YaJing) Hoffman;

16 grandchildren: Erik (Heather) Van Nest, Peter (Ryn Wilson) Hoffman, John (Ye) Hoffman, Heidi (Phil) Kramer, Shannon Brusseau, Lindsay (Dan) Griffin, Tom Baker, Hannah (Rien Zabor) Hoffman, Staci (Mike Hainstock) Baker, Matt (Kara) Brusseau, Allison (Josh Michael) Hoffman, Jacob (Cassidy Sandoval) Baker, Patrick (Lauren Duckett) Hoffman, Sean Hoffman, Mei Hoffman, and Kora Hoffman;

5 great grandchildren: Bennett Hoffman, Lilya Hoffman, Elora Kramer, Ani Kramer, and Wesley Kramer;

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Predeceased: Dick is predeceased by his parents William and Myrtle Hoffman.

 

Dick was born in Rockford, Illinois on May 18, 1935. He met the love of his life, Donna, in the 7th grade while attending Lincoln Junior High School. He and Donna graduated from East Rockford High School in 1953. Dick and Donna were married in 1955 during his Junior year of college at the University of Illinois. Dick graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1957. Dick worked as an engineer for more than 40 years. Over the years Dick enjoyed many hobbies to include: music, traveling and camping with his family, umpiring baseball games, watching the Brewers and Fighting Illini sports, writing, painting, snow birding in Florida, and going to Disney World. He was a man of strong faith and commitment to his Lord and served faithfully as the treasurer for and on church council at Holy Cross Lutheran Church for many years. He was a generous and gracious son, husband, father, and grandfather who loved all his “blessed additions.”
