(nee Strassburg) Born to Eternal Life on April 21, 2018, age 94. Beloved wife of the late Clifford Fossum. Loving mother of Donald Fossum, Barbara J. Higgins-Dargahi, Nancy Ann (the late Alan) Vaughn, Patty (Matthew) Culmore, Gloria Boileau, and Ken (Jody) Fossum. Proud grandmother of Joey (Sally) Higgins, Lori Lynn Whittingham, Ericka (Scott) Gray, Rebecca (Jim) Baffrey, Amanda (Matt) McCullum, Nicole (Casey Cortese) Hoag, Jeff (Katie) Hoag, Jon (Ashlee) Hoag, Katie (Greg) Sukowaty, Jason (Jennifer Malak) Fossum; great grandmother of Joseph, James, and Cora Jean, Tucker, Emma, Cassey (Adrian), Tori, Devlin, Maya and Madelyn, Dylan, Delilah, Carter, August, Penelope, and Jenevieve; great-great grandmother of Corbin.  Also survived by Former son-in-law, Joseph Higgins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Josephine and Henry “Pat” Steele and sister, Gertrude Strassburg. 

Dorothy served as President and Judge of the African Violet Society of America. She was a member of Christ King Parish and served on the Board of Directors and Eucharist Minister. She was Girl Scout troop leader and loved to sew, knit and loved owls. Her passion for the Mississippi River has passed down through generation after generation. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at CHRIST KING PARISH, 2604 Swan Blvd. Wauwatosa. Procession will follow to Wood National Cemetery for Interment next to Clifford who served his country so proudly.  Reception to follow Mass at Alioto’s Restaurant (with a cash bar), 3041 North Mayfair Road, Milwaukee, WI 53222 in the Main dining room.
