Died peacefully at his Mequon home on September 29, 2017 at the age of 70 years. He is survived by his children; Aimee (Steve) O’Connor, Angela Speed (Joe Boblick), and David (Shannon) Speed, his grandchildren; Henry O’Connor, Collin and Claire Speed, and Ruby Boblick, and his former wife, Lynn Speed. His nieces, Nicole (Mark) McGroarty and Trisha (Stephen) Shaskan, and nephew, Jesse Speed.

Charles was raised in Winona, Minnesota and lived in the Twin Cities and St. Cloud, Minnesota before moving to the Milwaukee area in 1977. He worked for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency from 1970 until his retirement in 2002.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Helen Speed, his brother and sister-in-law Duane & Charlayne Speed, sister-in-law Royal Kline, and brother-in-law Dennis Orphan.

The family extends special thanks to his neighbors in Mequon for their care and support for Charles. 

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 4th for a visitation from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society or Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin  in Charles' name appreciated.
