Mr. Good was band director at Tipton High School for my freshman through junior years. He provided a sense of belonging and stability for me at an important transitional stage in my life. It was difficult to see him leave Tipton. I am glad to have been touched by his life, and my thoughts go out to Patty, Kevin and Penny.

Stan was the reason I went into the music education field. He and Patty inspired me and helped me go to Butler and also helped by allowing me to come back to Tipton to teach private lessons to beginners. He also taught me how to design and produce marching band shows, a skill which I would use later when I taught band. I started out as a band director and later became more of a vocal teacher and taught for a total of 32 years. I remember going to Stan and Patty's house to work on solos and ensembles and how encouraging they were. I also enjoyed hearing them play duets on the piano. My wife Vicki's parents, Martha and D Barker, used to have Stan and Patty over to play cards together, and I think they had a hand in bringing us together. I met Vicki while playing in the band, and we're still playing together now in the Tipton Community Band. Many of us in the band are from the Stan Good era and remember the fun times and his encouragement to do our best. Several of his THS students went into the music field, and, though not all of them stayed the course, we all gained valuable experience because of Stan and Patty's encouragement. Condolences to Patty, Kevin, Penny and the family; Stan will be greatly missed.

Tipton High School. Class of 1967.
Sorry to here of Stan's passing. I have fond memories of Miricles Of Melodies, Friday nights on the football field and the early morning practices to get ready for them and the state band contest. It was a great time. I am still an active musician to this day and it all started back then. Stan was a great director and teacher. I was in the percussion section and I remember taking lessons in your home on Adams St. after hours. Patty, you were always there to help and put up with all us hooligans and I appreciate all that you did as well ! It was great working with both you !!
My condolenses to the family and best wishes.
