My wife Susan and I were saddened to hear of Karl's passing. Our backyard (750 Radiant Ct) opens into the cornfield just the other side of Allen from Karl's family home. Susan and I both spoke with him a few times since moving into our home 12 years ago. And our golden retreiver Lucky visited Karl's dog on several occasions over the past few years. That the conversations were infrequent is of no matter. We were neighbors and that by itself was enough. As I learned more about Karl only weeks before his passing, it came clear that his family's story is a remarkable one. I hope it has been or will be chronicled by someone. Our thoughts are with Karl's wife and the Behling family as you reflect on his long life. I hope it's a small comfort to know he had many neighbors who also mourn the passing of a good man. May your memories outweigh your sadness.
