Deborah “Debi” Ann Martin, age 78, of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Debi was born on January 29, 1948, to James “Jim” and Lorraine “Lori” Vetter in Madison, Wisconsin. She grew up in Appleton, Beaver Dam, and Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. While attending Beaver Dam High School, she participated in chorus and theatre. She continued her involvement in chorus and theatre with the Wisconsin Bell Players, where she became known for her “spot-on” portrayal of Ruth Buzzi from the television show Laugh-In.

On March 10, 1979, Debi married Bruce S. Martin, and together they made their home in Mukwonago, Wisconsin. They shared 46 years of marriage, building a life filled with family, cherished memories, and the things Debi loved most.

Debi dedicated 27 years of her career to Ameritech, followed by another 25 years with O’Leary Plumbing and Heating. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She also enjoyed playing Mrs. Claus for the Mukwonago VFW during Midnight Magic.

Debi found great joy in heading “up north” to her trailer in Necedah, Wisconsin, where she enjoyed the peace of the outdoors and spending time with her children and grandchildren. An avid birdwatcher and fisherman, she appreciated the simple pleasures of nature. She was also a devoted animal lover whose compassion extended to creatures big and small. Her four-legged companions, Bella and Murphy, held a special place in her heart.

Debi will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 46 years, Bruce; her daughter, Heidi Flores (Alex); her son, Troy Martin; her sisters, Sue (Galen) Rupe and Karen (Dan) Foran; her brother, Rick (Mary) Vetter; and her beloved grandchildren, Christian, Izabella, Gabriel, Zahir, and Alixanna. She will also be dearly missed by her cherished companions, Bella and Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Lori “Schlimgen” Vetter and nephew, Jason Vetter.

Debi leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a lasting reminder to appreciate the beauty of nature, the companionship of animals, and the love of family. She will be remembered with love by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank ProHealth Care staff and the Mukwonago Fire Department EMS team for their continued care and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the HAWS (Humane Animal Welfare Society) or a local animal shelter in Debi’s memory, honoring her lifelong love of animals.
