Les was born in Banat, Michigan and grew up in nearby Stephenson, graduating from Stephenson High School. He worked at Oster Corporation in Milwaukee and ACI in Information Systems and management for many years before retiring in 2000. Les enjoyed being a Scoutmaster for the St. Catherine’s parish Boy Scout troop mentoring his son, nephews and other young scouts.
Les loved sports and was a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers. He enjoyed golfing and was blessed with natural ability, having only taken it up after returning from the navy and visiting his parents’ golf course Lone Oak, formerly the family farm but converted to one of the earliest golf courses in upper Michigan.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital for the compassionate care that was provided to Les. We also thank Jim and John at Schmidt & Bartelt.
