Erick Fritz Seiler, of East Troy, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 94.
He was born on October 29, 1931, in New York, New York, to Paul and Elizabeth Seiler. After losing his father as a young child, Erick was sent to Germany to live with his grandparents on their farm during the final years of World War II. Following the war, he was smuggled out of East Germany and returned to the United States, where he was reunited with his mother.
Erick attended university in New York, earning a degree in engineering. He later served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
In the 1950s, Erick moved to Milwaukee. In the late 1960s, he met Sandra, who became his beloved wife and lifelong partner. Together, they built a large and loving family and made their home in East Troy, Wisconsin.
Erick was preceded in death by his father, Paul; his mother, Elizabeth; his son, David; and his stepdaughter, Jacqueline.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra; his sons, Paul (Carrie) Seiler and Christopher (Amy) Seiler; his stepdaughter, Sherrie (Paul) Buenger; his daughter-in-law Rosemary (David) Seiler, and many beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Erick will be remembered for his quiet strength, the resilience that carried him through extraordinary circumstances, and the profound love he gave to his family. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home (930 Main St. Mukwonago) from 10:00 AM until the time of the Service at 1:00 PM.
