Born to Eternal Life on August 7, 2026 at the age of 86.  Loving mother of Michael (Lisa), Steven, Brian (Bonnie), Daniel (Abby) and Mari Jo (Jim) Miller.  Dear grandma of Nick, Danielle, Alex, Josh, Jenna, Christopher, Megan, Matt, Morgan, Bobbi Jo, Serena, Carley, Stevan and the late Ryan.  Special great grandma of Weston, Cal, Brayden, Reese, Mason, Grant, Emmy, Mack, Blakely Jo, Blair, Sawyer, Marley, Sofia, Caden and Chloe.  Sister of Maryann (the late Tony) La Licata, Bobbie Cassata and Kathie Smith.  Further survived by Skip Bruckner, other relatives and many friends.

Nannie B was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and cherished member of her community. While she was a grandmother to many, she truly became a grandmother to an entire community through her 42 years as a school bus driver.

She was an amazing mother to her five children, always putting her family first and filling their lives with love, strength, laughter and countless memories. Her children were her pride and joy, and she was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved.

For 42 years, Mrs. B could be found behind the wheel of a school bus, safely carrying generations of children to and from school. But to her, it was so much more than a job. She knew the children by name, watched them grow, celebrated their accomplishments and cared about each one as if they were her own. Many children who rode her bus never forgot her, and many returned as adults still calling her “Nannie B.”

She became such a trusted and loved part of the community that parents would even let Nannie B pull their children’s loose teeth right there on the school bus! It was just one of the many things that made her special. To the children, riding Nannie B’s bus was an experience they would remember for the rest of their lives. To the parents, she was someone they trusted completely.

She had a way of making people feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. Her kindness, humor, and genuine interest in others made her a special person in the lives of so many. She wasn’t simply a school bus driver - she was a trusted face, a comforting presence, and, to countless children and families, an honorary grandmother.

She was immensely proud of her Italian heritage and expressed that pride through one of the ways she loved best- cooking for the people she loved. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and wonderful memories. She was famous for her homemade mostaccioli, lasagna, French toast, and so many other meals that brought her family together around the table. Her recipes may be filled plates, but it was the love she put into every meal that made them unforgettable.

Nannie B also had enormous love for animals, especially her dogs. Her four-legged friends held a very special place in her heart. She had a soft spot for any dog she met and never seemed to meet a four-legged friend she didn’t love. Her compassion and affection extended to animals just as naturally as it did to the people around her.

Her legacy lives on in her five children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and in the many lives she touched throughout her 42 years of service to the community. The love she gave so freely will continue through every story told, every memory shared, and every person who was fortunate enough to know her.

Nannie B will be deeply missed but her love and memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends, former students, and the entire community she loved so dearly.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10280 N. Port Washington Road, Mequon from 5 PM until the time of Funeral Service at 7 PM.  Private family entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
