Piffle! She's gone!

Audrey Gloor, 91, found peace on August 6 at Hamilton House in Cedarburg. She was born January 15, 1935, to Armin and Bernice Schultz in Sheboygan, WI.

Audrey graduated from Milwaukee State Teacher's College, predecessor to UWM, with a degree in Education. It was there she met a tall young man who shared the same birthday-seven years apart. On June 23, 1956, she and Charles "Chuck" Gloor began their nearly 64 years of marriage. 

Audrey was a devoted teacher. She taught math in Milwaukee Public Schools, Hillel Academy, and Brown Deer High School. She had plenty of interests outside of the classroom; music, theatre, playing cards, bowling, golf, and certainly travel. From extensive family camping trips to finding every lighthouse in the US to European river cruises, Mom and Dad covered a lot of ground. Mom truly loved the Lord. She was a vibrant and vital member of Brown Deer United Methodist Church for 62 years. Audrey was a long-time choir member, Bible study leader, treasurer, church outing planner, lay speaker, and so much more.

Audrey is survived by her three children: Andy(Wendy), Jim, & Karen, four grandchildren: Kelley, Corey, Dani, & Erin, and one great-granddaughter, Alice. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, and her parents.

Many, many thanks to the residents and staff at Hamilton House. Much gratitude to Ashley and the Lily Hospice family, they were great.

A celebration of life event will be held at Brown Deer Methodist Church on Tuesday August 18 at 11am, with a visitation beforehand from 10am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North Point Lighthouse or Brown Deer United Methodist Church.
