Janet Fischer (nee Michels) was guided to heaven by her beloved husband Bud and devoted sister Janice on June 22, 2026, surrounded by her daughters and family.
Janet was born to Oscar and Ruth Michels and was the identical twin to Janice Maultra. They grew up in Brownsville, WI where they were raised within a house that had strong faith and family values. The Twins attended nursing school in Kenosha, WI and later moved to Milwaukee. Janet was a practicing nurse in Milwaukee and a clinical nurse in Menomonee Falls at (Advance Medical Clinic) Aurora Health Care Clinic for 35 years. She was the love of his life, to her husband the late Bud (Rupert) Fischer, and loving mother to “Her Girls”, Kim (Jim) Brinsko, Sharon Jacques, Lisa Fischer and Mary Fischer. Grandmother to her six wonderful and devoted grandchildren and two energetic great granddaughters.
She is further survived by her sister; Mary Jeanne Michels OSF, and sister-in-law Annette Michels, her dear nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
Janet’s life was devoted to her faith, Bud, Her Girls, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. She always enjoyed spending time with her siblings, endless Sheep-head games, getting together during the holidays, daily and weekly phone calls catching up on daily events. As well as being together with her numerous lifelong friends and on their travels to Europe and in the U.S.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Bud, her parents Oscar and Ruth, her sisters; Patricia (Frances) Kehrmeyer, Joan (Tom) Flor, Janice (Bob) Maultra, her brothers; Jerry (Jean) Michels, Dale (Ruth) Michels, Franny Michels, Dick Michels, her Son-in-law Mark Jacques and her nieces and nephew. And the deceased Fischer brother’s-in-laws and sister’s-in-in-laws.
A service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at St. Anthony Parish (N74W13604 Appleton Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051) from 10:00 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. A private Internment will follow the next day at Holy Cross Cemetery.
