Sharon Ruth Kurth (nee Alaxson), beloved mother and grandmother, was born into eternal life on May 31, 2026, at the age of 77 at her home in East Troy with her three children by her side.
Born September 6, 1948, to Donald and Ruth Alaxson of Waterford, one of 6 girls, she was raised on the family farm. Sharon graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and taught parochial school. Sharon married Roger Kurth in 1973 and became a homemaker when they had their three children and settled in East Troy. Sharon tended her flower beds and the garden, making jam and canning her harvest to help feed the family, while still finding time to bowl and throw horseshoes until they moved to Rhinelander when Rog retired in 2007. In the Northwoods, she continued to plant flowers and cross-stitched until her arthritis made it too difficult. Word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, shopping for clearance items for the grandchildren, antiquing, and watching HGTV soon were how she spent her days.
Sharon is survived by her children: Jeremy Kurth of East Troy, Jessica (Cameron) Kappl of Brookfield, and Joelle (Jason) Feucht of East Troy.
Sharon was a proud grandmother who went to as many events as she could of her grandchildren: Ben (Kristen Krum), Jonathan and Tiernan Kurth, Sean, Ruth, and Annika Kappl, and Makenzie and Owen Feucht.
Sharon is also survived by her sisters, Betty Rahm, Patsy Deak, Susan (Rick) Gramza, and Kathy (Jim) Merlo, Sisters-in law Phyllis Ermer, Karen (Paul “Jake”) Jacobs, Brother-in-law Orv (Betty) Kurth and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Roger, parents Don and Ruth Alaxson, in-laws Wilbur and Irene Kurth, sister Barb Ludwig, brothers Jonathan and Thomas, brothers-in-law- Kirt Ludwig, Bernie Ermer, and John Rahm, Herbie Klumb, and sister-in-law LaNore Klumb.
A visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church located at 2665 North Street in East Troy, WI 53120 on Friday, June 26th from 11am-1pm with the service to follow.
The burial will be held on Monday, June 29th at 9am at Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, WI where she will be laid to rest next to Roger.
