Linda S. Kohn entered Eternal Life on Monday, May 4, 2026 while surrounded by her loving family.
She is the beloved mother of Christine Lynn Kohn (Bryan Lester) and Kenneth James Kohn and the proud and doting “Nana” of Daniel Scott Lester “Pooh Bear”. Linda is survived by her brothers, William (Lynn) Pietsch and Robert (Lisa) Pietsch and her loving sister, Susan (John) Teeters. Dear aunt of Douglas Teeters, Kelley (Zachary) King, Bailey (Jonathan) Ryback and Katie Pietsch. She found joy in seeing grandnieces, Sophia, Abigail and Emily and grandnephew, Theodore. Other survivors include Daniel J. Kohn, Marilyn Kohn and Colleen Joy Kohn whom loved her dearly. She is further survived by Wagner and Pietsch cousins and cherished and dear friends and co-workers.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her loving sister Diane (John) Pezewski and (Tom Stich) and father-in-law, Daniel G. Kohn.
Linda was born in Milwaukee to William and Eleanor (nee Wagner) Pietsch on August 31, 1954. She graduated from Whitnall High School in 1972. She spent most of her childhood in Greenfield and grew up in the house that her grandfather and father built. She was the eldest of 5 children and her younger siblings were embraced with her warm and nurturing manner. She was married to Daniel James Kohn on June 11, 1977 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Milwaukee which was the same church where they both were baptized on the same day as infants. After marriage, she lived in Milwaukee where she and Daniel raised their 2 children. She was a dedicated employee of JCPenney for 37 years and then the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Linda loved music, the State Fair, gardening, Eagle River with her cousins, Christmases with extended family, camping, Butternut, luncheons, visiting with friends and Holiday gatherings at her daughter’s home. She spoke fondly of her trip to Germany with her grandma and grandpa Wagner and visiting with relatives.
The greatest joy of her life was her children, Christine and Kenny. They will deeply miss her, but her love and spirit will remain in their hearts forever.
Linda was a breast cancer survivor. Sadly, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in December of 2024. She endured extreme fatigue and painful neuropathy as a result of chemotherapy. Despite her adversity, she maintained a positive attitude and never complained. After her diagnosis, she moved in with her daughter. Christine and Bryan welcomed Daniel Scott on July 20, 2025. Christine was grateful to have her mother with her. Linda loved to see her grandson every day; her “Pooh Bear” was the joy and light of her life.
Linda was a kind, compassionate, humble, sweet, selfless and loving person.
Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her children plan to celebrate her life at a later date with a Celebration of Life event.
In her honor, share a kind word, a warm hug and live life each day to the fullest.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Froedtert Cancer Care staff for their compassion and medical expertise. Also, a special thank you to Horizon Hospice for their loving care and support.
