Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John Blott, son Michael (Barbara) Blott, both of Mukwonago WI, and daughter Christine (Thomas) Kassube of Savage, MN.  Also left to cherish her memory are 3 grandsons; Jordan Davis of Manitowoc WI, Jonathan Blott of Mukwonago WI, and Erik Kassube of Savage MN.  Sandra enjoyed watching and cheering for Jordan and Jonathan as they played football for Mukwonago High School – the 4th generation of the family to do so and was proud of Erik for the trophies and medals he won in Karate and Robotics.  She is further survived by sister-in-law Billie Rakow of The Villages in Florida, and other friends and relatives.

Sandra was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 29, 1943.  She attended a two-room elementary school, St. Paul’s Lutheran, in West Allis.  She graduated in 1960 from Milwaukee Lutheran High School where she worked on the school yearbook, was president of the Service Club, and played on the girls’ basketball team.  She received her Bachelor of Business Education from the now University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in 1964 and her MEPD in 1977.  While at Whitewater, Sandra was a reporter for the Royal Purple school paper and an officer of Alpha Sigma Sorority.

Also, while attending the University, she met her husband, John Blott, and married him on July 31, 1965.  They lived on one of the family farms on Hwy ES in the town of Vernon for 5 years before moving to their home in Mukwonago in 1970.

Sandra’s first teaching job was Business Education at New Berlin High School.  She then taught Business Education for 2 years at Kettle Moraine High School where she was named Department Head before her last teaching position at Greendale High School where she remained for 30 years.  During that time, in addition to Department Head, she was also named Local Vocational Education Coordinator, whose job was to oversee the Business, Home Economics, and Industrial Arts Departments.  Sandra received the High School’s Teacher of Merit Award and was named an Outstanding Teacher by the Wisconsin Education Association Council.  She was also a published author of articles on Business Education – one for the Journal of Business Education and another for the WBEA News and Views.  After 33 years of teaching, Sandra retired in 1998.

Upon her retirement, Sandra was introduced to the art of quilting by several of her friends.  She was a member of the Mukwonago Crazy Quilters and the Ben Franklin Quilt Club.  She was known for her machine applique and won many ribbons at various Wisconsin quilt shows for her works, including Best of Show and Visitor’s Choice awards.  She was also an avid reader.

Per Sandra’s wishes, funeral services will be private, and burial will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago.  Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home is serving the family.
