Kathleen B (Kate) Knodl
April 19, 1930 - April 28, 2026

Of Menomonee Falls

Kathleen was born to eternal life on April 28, 2026, at the age of 96. She married the love of her life on June 24, 1949, and was a loving and caring wife to George for 73 years.

Preceding Kathleen in death, were her husband George, and their son, Patrick. Her faith sustained her, and she eagerly awaited her heavenly reunion with them.

Loving mother of Steven, Linda (Joe) Putzer, Daniel (Dena), Susan (Steve) Amann, Michael, Jeffrey (Jill), the late Patrick, and Timothy (Monique). Grandmother of Sydney (John), Justin, Amanda (Jacob), Ashley (Jason), Kayla (AJ), Matthew (Emilee), Ryan (Megan), Taylir (Kyle), Ciara, Spenser, Sarah (Jon), Patrick, Paige, and Maxwell. Great-Grandmother of Lincoln, Cooper, Molly, Riley, Donovan, Hudson, Ella, Harper, Natayla, Ryan, Ruby, and another great-granddaughter coming in October.

She is survived by her sister Mary Ellen (Rick) Mazurczak, and many other family & friends.

Kathleen’s foremost passion was her family, encompassing children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, to whom she devoted herself. She was kind, loving, and forgiving. She was colorful; loved her beads and her broaches. She loved her silly little trinkets and gifts that she picked up on her weekly trips to the Dollar Tree and Goodwill. She loved a warm sunny day, nature, flowers, and birds. She kept her bird feeders full and took great pleasure in watching all the birds outside her kitchen window, while enjoying her morning coffee during the many years that her & George lived in Menomonee Falls. She loved remembering her grandchildren’s birthdays by sending a Dollar Tree card, with a “couple bucks”. She never turned down a shot of RumChata on special occasions.

Through her work and volunteer efforts at multiple daycare centers, including the Children’s Community Center in Menomonee Falls and Children’s Tender Care in Germantown, she made a lasting impact. When she was feeding & rocking an infant; playing a game or reading a book to a toddler, she was in her “happy place”. While at Fairway Knoll, she looked forward to occasional visits by the children from the nearby Happy Days Preschool. She loved all their games, dances, and songs. Their visits usually ended with a request for “Grandma Kate” to read them a book.

Special thanks to the loving, caring staff and residents at Fairway Knoll. They became a special part of not only mom’s family, but our entire family as well. Also, special thanks to the amazing individuals from Brighton Hospice, who provided additional comfort, love, and support over the past few months.

A visitation will be held on Saturday May 2, 2026, from 10am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, at St. Boniface Catholic church (W204N11940 Goldendale Rd, Germantown, WI 53022). The burial will be Monday May 4, 2026, at Noon, at St. Anthony’s Cemetery (N74W13604 Appleton Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051).
