Glenn Gressing
January 30, 1954 - April 18, 2026

Shooting Star by Bad Company- this song may be played in the background while reading Glenn's story to further represent who Glenn was.

It is with heavy hearts that his family announces the sudden passing of Glenn Gressing on April 18th at the age of 72.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lisa, his much-loved daughter, Brigitte Schmit (Michael), who was so proud to call him her “Daddy”; and his treasured granddaughters, Lillian and Rosalie Wittenberger, who knew him as their legendary “Buppa.” He is also lovingly remembered as a kind and gentle brother-in-law to Catherine and Thomas Kite. His family circle was wide and welcoming— a sweet and funny “Oakley Glenny” to his three nieces, Anna (Yuvi), Sigrid (Ryan), and Rebecca, and a dear cousin to many. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward & Audrey Gressing, and his dear father-in-law/friend, David Lubecki.

Recently retired after nearly 50 years being a passionate Non-Destructive Testing Technician, Glenn travelled extensively for weeks on end, he checked into his room, only to find Gideon’s Bible – and sent a quick pic to his family every time as a joke. Rocky Racoon...this time you met your match.

Glenn loved fishing with his lifelong friends that he considered brothers. The Canada trip this year will allow his buddies an extra fishing limit, as he had already bought his license. Glenn always kept his many backyard feeders filled for his birds (and squirrels, turkeys, kittens, and deer). He loved to gloat that he could always beat his father-in-law and brother-in-law at cribbage…every time. And he attended to his mother-in-law’s every need like a porter at the Pfister Hotel.

We’re all sad that he will miss this year’s morel season.

Glenn, don’t you know that you are a shooting star, and all the world will love you, just as long, as long as you are.

Following Glenn’s request, there will be no services, please don’t send flowers, just toss a coin into a wishing well.
