Alden J. Draeger
March 27, 1941 - March 8, 2026

Alden J. Draeger, 84, of Ixonia, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026.

Alden was born the fifth of seven children to Peter and Dorothea (Hauck) Draeger on March 27, 1941, in Bismarck, North Dakota. He was raised on the family farm near Hazelton. He graduated from Hazelton High School in 1959.

Alden moved to Milwaukee in 1961, bringing with him a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit. After a short time at Briggs and Stratton, he began a plumbing apprenticeship with Schroeder Plumbing, where he honed his skills before starting his own contracting business, Pewaukee Plumbing. He also served as the Town of Pewaukee’s Plumbing Inspector.

Alden was an avid outdoorsman whose love of nature shaped much of his life. He traveled widely to fish and hunt big game and spent many seasons trap-shooting. He cherished time with family and friends playing cards and telling stories about growing up on the family farm. Often, he could be found tending his burn barrel faithfully or reading the Farmer’s Almanac. We will remember Alden for his kindness, generosity, and love of family.

Alden leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 36 years, Carol (Glugla). Continuing his legacy are his two children Sheryl (Michael) Laird and Carol (Larry) Thomas and three stepchildren Linda (Chris) Huenink, Paul (Rhonda) Kiedrowski and Joe (Julie) Kiedrowski. He was greatly loved by his grandchildren: John (Elizabeth), Matthew (Melissa), Patrick (Christine), James (Amber), Elizabeth, Ryan (Jesse), Connor, Carson, Luci, Gabi, Hailey and Logan. He was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Ginny and Alva Draeger, and his youngest sister, Dorie (Al) Deringer.

Alden was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Cecilia Skar, Jerome, Clifford, Theresa Lee and Richard, and his precious granddaughter, Lindsay Huenink.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:45 AM on Monday, March 16, 2026 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 995 Silver Lake St, Oconomowoc.

The funeral service will also be live streamed on the St. Jerome's Oconomowoc YouTube channel.

Alden will be laid to rest at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia.
